GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao?s mother Dionisia was rushed to the hospital late Tuesday and was being treated for stress-related illness, sources at the St. Elizabeth hospital here said on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Mrs. Pacquiao led her friends on a two-hour prayer for her son who defeated Mexican boxer Marco Antonio Barrera on the 11th round of their bout in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is preparing a rousing welcome for Pacquiao when he flies to Manila on Friday.
