Forty-year-old Mayweather takes on the UFC lightweight champion in a multi-million-pound boxing match on August 26.
Mayweather’s 50th professional bout, which has divided opinion in the combat sports world, takes place a the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight will be Mayweather’s first since his September 2015 bout with Andre Berto, which saw him rack up his 49th professional victory.
Just like in his bout with Manny Pacquiao a few earlier, Mayweather failed to put on a show for the spectators across the world.
The American is well aware of that fact going into his bout with McGregor and plans on rectifying that by registering his career stoppage victory.
“Expect excitement. He’s gonna talk trash, I’m gonna talk trash, there’s gonna be a lot of blood, sweat and tears,” he told the assembled media at an open training session in Las Vegas.
McGregor, the first UFC fighter to hold two titles simultaneously, goes into his bout with Mayweather having never boxed professionally.
Despite never having set foot inside the ring, McGregor is confident of shocking the world and becoming the first man to humble Mayweather.
Mayweather is anticipating a hell storm from ‘The Notorious’ in the early rounds and plans on capitalising the Irishman’s eagerness to end the fight early.
“He’s looking forward to getting out there and ending the fight early,” the former five-weight world champion added.
“I’m looking forward to going out there and ending the fight early. It won’t go the distance.
“He’s confident. They’re always confident. But it’s different when you get in there with Floyd Mayweather.”
