In his third fight back after two-plus years on the shelf, Mikey Garcia remained undefeated by dispatching Adrien Broner on Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) did not score a knockout of Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) but was dominant throughout the fight, leading from the third round onward.
Garcia, 29, took a unanimous decision (117-111, 116-112, 116-112) over Broner, 28, who had not previously been defeated when weighing less than 143.5 pounds entering a fight. Saturday’s bout was fought at 140 pounds.
For Garcia, the victory is the biggest of his career to date even as he continues to seek title unification bouts for his championships.
