LOS ANGELES—When word came out from Texas that a license to fight will be issued for Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiao could not help but express relief on Thursday that “the fight is finally taking place.”
Barrera, who underwent an extensive medical checkup in Houston on Monday, was declared “fit to participate in combative sport” by top neurologist Dr. Andres Keichian, who relayed the news to the San Antonio Express-News boxing writer John Whisler.
