BIG Yellow Promotions and Boxing Gym is hoping to produce future world champions after linking up with two new personalities.
?Hopefully we will be able to produce a world champion,? Big Yellow team manager Seth Oliver Tio told SunStar Cebu. ?We hope to expand our gym and hopefully bring in more boxers.?
Trainer Christopher ?Ping-Ping? Tepora, formerly of Omega Promotions, has joined the team as the gym?s head trainer. Big Yellow also plans to tie up with SGG Promotions?s Sammy Gello-ani.
Gello-ani and Tepora used to be a team and produced a world champion in Johnriel Casimero.
Currently the Big Yellow Gym has three promising young fighters and a talented amateur they are building up to become future world beaters.
Cris Ganoza, who used to train at the ALA Gym, is a 22-year-old light flyweight prospect with a 12-1 record six knockouts. Marjun Pantilgan is also 22 and is 14-5 with 11 knockouts. Clyde Azarcon, also 22 years old, is 9-1 with three knockouts, while Dennis Guibao, 21, is yet to make his pro debut.
?We continue with the same routine but I added a few improvements in their training,? said Tepora.
Tio started out with the boxing business three years ago with a small gym at the side of his construction equipment warehouse in Mabolo and a boxer, Cedie Noblefranca. Now, Big Yellow has a fully equipped gym in Lagtang, Talisay City.
?We want to aggressively promote fights and we want to get more boxers,? said Tio. ?We want to promote here in Cebu and hopefully also nationwide.?
Big Yellow may be new in the boxing scene but it?s going into the right direction with an optimistic manager and a very experienced trainer. (EKA)
