McGregor, 28, will lock horns with the Olympian in multi-million dollar boxing match, which has been dubbed ‘The Billion Dollar Fight, on August 26.
Mayweather vs. McGregor, a contest which was first mooted in May 2016, will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor, the reigning UFC lightweight champion, will enter the bout with zero professional boxing fights to his name – a fact which has led many to rule out his chances of coming out the contest victorious.
Many in the mixed martial arts world expect McGregor to enlist the help of a top boxing coach for his professional boxing debut.
However, at this moment in time, McGregor, Ireland’s first UFC belt holder, will be sticking with the close-knit team that made him one of the most feared strikers in MMA.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour, The Notorious’ striking coach, Owen Roddy, said: ?At the moment, it?s going to be me, John, possibly Artem and I think there?s four.
?Obviously he?ll have to get his own cut man and stuff like that. He hasn?t sorted that just yet. But it?ll definitely be myself, John and Artem at the moment.?
Roddy then went on to reveal that he and McGregor have already devised a plan to defeat Mayweather, the most elusive boxer of his generation.
?We?re not bringing anybody in as of yet, but who knows down the line,? he continued.
?We?re gonna head over the states in the next couple of weeks. But at the moment, we?re in Dublin, we?re all working together.
“We came up with a game plan that we think can shock the world and we?re gonna stick to that for the time being.?
