The seemingly never ending ?will they, won?t they? saga of a possible Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather v Conor McGregor boxing bout saw an interesting twist this week that could prove very useful to the UFC.
The UFC have agreed a deal with McGregor to take on Mayweather in a boxing super-fight, and are now locked in negotiations with The Money Team as they attempt to thrash out a deal.
And now the UFC has been handed a back-up plan, thanks to Manny Pacquiao?s veteran promoter Bob Arum.
Speaking to TMZ in the States, Arum advised UFC president Dana White to ?be patient (and) don?t give in,? during negotiations with Mayweather?s team.
?Dana?s a good negotiator and he?ll get the thing done,? said Arum.
?But he can?t be pushed around by Mayweather and his people.?
If the negotiations do hit a stalemate there could be an alternative option for McGregor to compete in a boxing super-fight. ?Pacquiao?s got a tough fight – a really tough fight – against this guy in Australia, Jeff Horn,? Arum said.
?After that fight on July 1st, if McGregor is still looking for an opponent, Manny Pacquiao is there.?
