NEW YORK ? Terence Crawford turned Madison Square Garden into his home court Saturday night. Omaha’s champion boxer improved to 31-0 with a win over Felix Diaz, besting the Dominican over 10 rounds, eventually culminating in the 22nd knockout of his professional career.
The loss dropped Diaz, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist, to 19-2 over his professional career.
Crawford, who fought the entire bout as a southpaw, peppered Diaz numerous 4- and 5-shot combinations, dancing around would-be blows and landing at will. Diaz landed just 69 total punches to Crawford’s 193, and 20 percent of his power punches to Crawford’s 59.
Crawford has knocked out six of his last eight opponents dating back to June 2014.
