MANNY Pacquiao breached the 100-round mark after sparring for 12 rounds yesterday with the four hired sparmates at the RWS International gym yesterday.
Pacquiao is now just 28 rounds short of his targer after completing a total of 102 rounds as of yesterday, courtesy of Raymundo Beltran (four rounds), Aaron Melgarejo (three rounds), Arnel Tinampay (two rounds) and David Rodela (three rounds).
And on Friday, before he will close his Cebu training camp, Pacquiao will add 10 more rounds.
With the way he moved, received punches and retaliate with equally powerful punches, Marco Antonio Barrera could be in danger.
?As we viewed the video of their last fight (with Barrera back in Nov. 2003), Manny was a very different fighter back then.
I know it?s going to be tough but Manny really has a good chance of winning,? said former city councilor George Rama, a member of Team Pacquiao.
Yesterday, Pacquiao showed he is peaking at the right time and his timing is already exemplary and is expected to be even perfect when they hit Freddie Roach?s Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles on Monday.
Pacquiao displayed that he could fight toe-to-toe with the taller and heavier Beltran, showed his body?s toughness against Melgarejo. He also showed he could withstand the heavy punches of welterweight Tinampay and can dance with the quick- footed and taller Rodela.
Quickness
?Manny?s getting better every time and his quickness and speed has improved as the days goes by. He is 95 percent ready, nearing to the conditioning that he had when he fought (Erik) Morales the third time and his power is already in place, three more sparring sessions in LA and he will be tremendously ready,? said Roach.
As usual, after the sparring session, Manny went to perfect his skills at the double-end bag with Roach coaching him what to do most of the time.
Pacquiao will pack his bags and leave for Manila on Friday evening and they will leave for LA from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Saturday evening.
