Marco Antonio Barrera has been given a clean bill of health ahead of his November 15 clash with hard-hitting super-bantamweight world champion Manny Pacquiao, ending speculation (at least for the moment) on the Mexican featherweight?s future of the sport following last month?s revelation he had brain surgery in August 1997.
SecondsOut?s acclaimed author Thomas Hauser broke the news last month that Barrera had surgery to remove an abnormal blood vessel, a procedure called craniotomy. During this procedure Barrera?s skull was opened up, the blood vessel removed, and small plates inserted to close the hole back up.
