Former IBF strawweight champion Muhammad Rachman (Indonesia) is already preparing for a rematch against Florante “The Little Pacquiao” Condes, tentatively scheduled on November 16 in Manila, Phillipines. Rachman, 36, who was defeated by Condes via split decision in Jakarta on July 7, has recruited a new trainer in Yani Malhendo, the former WBC international champion. “It’s not yet finalized, but after Aljoe Jaro (Condes’ manager) settles the internal problems with his team, the Rachman vs Condes rematch will be finalized soon,” said Martinez dos Santos, Rachman’s manager. “However, Rachman has entered his training camp and the new trainer will join soon,” he added. Florante Condes’ quest to be a world champion was another Cinderella story, when he, together with Nonito Donaire, both previously unknown boxers in the Philippines, seized the world titles abroad almost at the same time.
