Terry Flanagan says that he would love the chance to box Vasyl Lomachenko, the Ukrainian who is fast emerging as the greatest talent of his generation.
Flanagan retained his WBO lightweight title with an eight-round stoppage of Orlando Cruz in Cardiff on Saturday night, about five hours before Lomachenko retained his WBO super-featherweight title in Las Vegas when Nicholas Walters quit at the end of the seventh round.
Both bouts were completely one-sided, as Flanagan made his big height advantage tell against the Puerto Rican, while Jamaican Walters, who entered the ring as an unbeaten former world champion, simply could not fathom out the speed and movement of Lomachenko, who already is a two-weight world champion.
