LOS ANGELES ? Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao got one last workout in before heading for Las Vegas, as he sparred four rounds with Rey Beltran at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.
As has been the custom during fight week, the Wild Card was full of people.
Among the visitors was Philippine Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pi?ol, who is in the United States for a series of meetings and trade shows.
“On the way down to Palm Springs, we were able to make it down to watch live sparring,” Pi?ol said. “I think he moves very well. He appears very confident.”
Pacquiao, meanwhile, said he “feels good” ahead of his welterweight showdown against Jessie Vargas on November 5.
“I’m excited to go to Vegas, and I’m excited for the fight,” said the boxer.
“We had a great training camp,” trainer Freddie Roach said. “The Philippines was great. We had a lot of good work. We got here, and we got even better work, with a little better sparring partners.”
“Everything is right where I want to be,” he added.
