MANNY Pacquiao is bracing for a tougher time in his rematch with Mexican ring icon Marco Antonio Barrera in November.Expecting Barrera to be more cautious this time, Pacquiao believes their second fight will be more exacting, acknowledging that the Mexican is a skilled brawler.
It is really harder to fight Barrera than Marquez, he said, describing Barrera as having many punches and tactics.
The 26-year-old Filipino boxing hero scored a stunning 11th-round TKO win over Barrera last Nov. 16 at the Alamodome in Texas.
Local trainer Buboy Fernandez concurred with Pacquiao’s observation that Barrera showed marked improvement in his last fight, against Paulie Ayala on June 19. Barrera convincingly beat Ayala in 10 rounds. Barrera moves differently than when he fought Pacquiao, Fernandez said.
