London is calling for World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight king Marlon Tapales. So are Japan, Thailand, the US and even Vietnam.
Wakee Salud, Tapales? chief handler, said yesterday that he has been receiving countless offers from all over, inquiring about their willingness to travel and defend the WBO 118-lb crown.
?The offer from England is a fight in October, while the one Japan is also in October and another one in December,? said Salud.
The camp of Pungluang Sor Singyu, the Thai slugger Tapales knocked out to win the crown last July in Ayutthaya, is also reaching out and aching for revenge.
Salud is also mentioning an offer to showcase their stiff in Vietnam against an Australian although the Cebu kingmaker insists he has yet to collate everything so he could study the offers on the table.
A possibility exists for Tapales to see action in the US, probably under the Manny Pacquiao headliner on Nov. 5 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas or in a separate card also in Sin City.
Of all the offers being relayed to Salud, one that has more substance at the moment is the one from England as he has already been given the name of the opponent: Paul Butler.
Butler, currently rated No. 12 by the WBO, is a former world super-flyweight champion and a holder of a 21-0 record with 12 KOs.
The Japanese offer also seems solid as two names have also been mentioned: Shohei Omori and Takuma Inoue.
