Nothing we here at Boxingconfidential.com hate more than a gossip. We detest those backyard busybodies. We loathe those Bobby and Barbara Buttinskys who stick their noses in where they don’t belong.
But I felt it would be a pugilistic and pulchritudinous public service to let our faithful readers get a gander at Hazel Reyes, the Filipina hottie better known under her stage name of Ara Mina.
Apparently the curvaceous Ms. Mina is well-rounded in more ways that two. You Pinoy film buffs, and the key word is buff, may remember Ara from her scintillating role in “Sex Scandal.”
That one didn’t play the first-run theaters here in New York City.
She is regular on GMA TV’s popular Bubble Gang program. She’s been in art films. She owns a talent agency and some restaurants. She is also a recording artist. From the, ahem, looks of things, Freddie Roach better hope her talents do not extend to wrapping hands or directing a boxer in hitting the hand pads.
I surmise, when this photo was taken, there were no concealed weapon laws in the Philippines. Or for partially concealed weapons, either.
Could Coach Roach expect to compete with such a natural attraction? But that’s where the gossip comes in.
You see Pinoys seem to be abuzz about a supposed hotter than fire romance between Ms. Mina and Megamanny Pacquaio. The fly in the ointment there, so to speak, is that Mr. Pacman is said to be happily married.
I’ve no reason to doubt this or to want to investigate further. This could be a Hollywood-style “paper romance” designed to fluff up the media profile of both man and woman.
On the other hand, Megamina might be a compelling reason for a national celebrity boxer to want to train in the Philippines rather than in Los Angeles.
Numerous sources do cite some Pinoy “hunk” as Ara’s true main squeeze.
Like I say, Pacquaio is said to be happily married and has young children.
But what’s the old clich?, he’s married but he’s not dead. He’s married but he can still look at the menu…folks, we’ve got hundreds of such pass? lines.
The scandal I am digging into is how some shmucks ranked Ara as the No. 55 Filpina Hottie. I must review photos and DVDs on the higher-ranked 54 immediately.
At the very least, I hope Ara has brightened up your day in a more than Mina way.
Who would you rather look at in boxing shorts, her or Barrera? I rest my case.
