READING, Penn. — Denis Shafikov handed Jamel Herring his first pro defeat, stopping him at the 0:36 mark of the 10th round at the Santander Arena on Saturday.
Shafikov scored a knockdown in the second round and dished out a beating throughout the fight. The Russian upped his record to 37-2-1 (20 KOs), while Herring fell to 15-1 (8 KOs).
Patryk Szymanski won a unanimous 10-round decision over Wilky Campfort by scores of 98-92 and 99-91 (twice) to raise his record to 16-0 with 9 KOs. Campfort is now 21-3 (12 KOs).
Former IBF welterweight titleholder Kermit Cintron continued his comeback with an eight-round unanimous decision over Carlos Garcia in a junior middleweight bout.
