Weights from The Great Wall, Beijing, China: Ruenroeng 5.75lbs heavy, Casimero 1.25lbs heavy

Both Ruenroeng and Casimero were overweight, with Ruenroeng a whopping 5.75 lbs over!

Amnat Ruenroeng 117.75 vs. John Riel Casimero 113.25* (IBF Flyweight Title)

Zong Ju Cai 105 vs. Samson Tor Buamas 105 (IBF Inter-Continental Female Minimumweight title)

Zhao Zhong Xiao 105 vs. Jose Antonio Jimenez 105 (IBF Minimumweight eliminator)

Venue: Diamond Stadium

Both Ruenroeng and Casimero were overweight, with Ruenroeng a whopping 5.75 lbs over! Casimero immediately stripped down with no discernible difference in his weight. He then chose to don a plastic suit and climb the wall some more to shed the excess 1.25 lbs in the allotted two hours and be eligible to win the title in this rematch. Both fighters were so disgusted with the turn of events that they didn?t face off for the cameras.

Casimero promoter Sampson Lewkowicz immediately conferred with Ruenroeng?s promoter Ekkarat Chaichotchuang (Jimmy Boxing Promotions), on how to proceed with the bout. Lewkowicz was certain Casimero would sweat the excess weight off, and in doing so, be eligible to win the title should the fight go forward. It is almost certain that Ruenroeng would not be able to shed 5.75 lbs in two hours and thus forfeit the title on the scales.

The other issues is, should the bout go forward, Ruenroeng, under IBF rules, cannot weigh in more than 10 lbs over the 112 lb. Limit, or 122 lbs. If so, Lewkowicz wanted to come to an agreement as to how much money would be forfeited from Ruenroeng?s purse directly to Casimero?s purse. As this weigh-in was part of the IBF convention?s Great Wall tour, the buses started leaving shortly after the ceremonies ended, making it impossible to remain the full two hours afterward for a second weigh-in.

Fightnews.com? will endeavor to learn and report here if Casimero did indeed make weight and any further developments affecting the procession of the fight.
