Pacquiao backs up and gets drilled with two left hooks to the ribs by the advancing Olivares. Olivares misses a wild right and gets nailed with an uppercut by Pacquiao, sending him into the ropes. Pacquiao walks in recklessly and gets hit with a hook to the head. Pacquiao uses his superior hand speed to score to the head and body. ROUND TWO: Pacquiao shoots in a hard right that stuns Olivares. Olivares throws back some wild shots with both hands. Pac Man clinches. Seconds later Olivares lands a hard cross. Pacquiao is bleeding from a cut over right eye, but it?s not in a bad spot. Olivares continues to drill Pacquiao with hard shots, and soon the Pac Man is bleeding from a nasty cut over his left eye. 30 seconds to go, Pacquiao is trying to jab his way out of trouble, but the pressure of Olivares is getting to him. ROUND THREE: Pacquiao?s corner does a nice job to close the cuts over his eyes. Hard left by Olivares. 2:00 left, and Olivares lands a savage right to the head. Pacquiao clinches and works the body on the inside. Nice uppercut to the chin by Pacquiao. Olivares hesitates and catches a hard three-punch combination. Olivares clinches. Slow round. EVEN ROUND
ROUND FOUR: Sharp combination to the head by Pacquiao. Olivares tries to use his jab, an ineffective weapon thus far. 1:30 left, Olivares finally lands a lazy jab, but follows it with a screaming cross and Pacquiao is down. He staggers up at the count of nine. Cortez looks at him closely but lets the fight continue. Olivares comes in wildly, but Pacquiao is amazingly able to fend off his attacks and survive the round. ROUND FIVE: Pacquiao comes out fast, looking to regain momentum. Olivares tries to time him, but he misses with a haymaker. Oooh, a sharp combination by Pacquiao puts Olivares on his heels. Hard left off the top of Olivares? head. Big right by Pac Man. Olivares clinches. Pacquiao nails him on the break and gets penalized a point by Cortez. Straight left by Pacquiao followed by a vicious uppercut. The bell intervenes before Pac Man can finish the job. ROUND TO PACQUIAO
ROUND SIX: Olivares? left eye is swelling up. Hard straight left by Pacquiao. Great left by Olivares in retaliation, but Pacquiao swings back even harder. One minute to go, and once again, Pacquiao is pouring it on. A three-punch combo at the bell rattles Olivares again. ROUND TO PACQUIAO
ROUND SEVEN: Pacquiao lands with quick shots to the body and head. Olivares misses wildly. Two minutes to go, and Olivares scores with a left hook to the head. Pacquiao is hurt, and as he stumbles back to the ropes, Olivares tears into him with hooks and crosses. 30 seconds to go. Big uppercut by Olivares; the momentum has swung again. The bell sounds. Both men have taken hellacious amounts of punishment. ROUND TO OLIVARES
ROUND EIGHT: Two hard lefts by Pacquiao stun Olivares in the opening 45 seconds of the round. Olivares has a delayed reaction before stumbling to the ropes. Another big left by Pacquiao. 1:30 to go. Olivares fires a 1-2 to the head and now Pacquiao is stunned. Both men are trading big shots. 15 seconds left and Olivares goes down from an uppercut to the jaw. He?s not going to make it up. It?s OVER at 2:55 of round eight.
