Palace congratulates Pacquiao?s victory vs Bradley

Malaca?ang has congratulated boxing champ Manny Pacquiao on his decisive victory against Timothy Bradley, saying it was a remarkable feat to cap his legendary career.

?Manny Pacquiao has done the Filipino nation proud again by winning decisively against Timothy Bradley,? Presidential Communications Operations Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said.

Coloma said they also applaud and thank Pacquiao ?for demonstrating anew that the Filipino has the courage and skill to compete in the global arena.?

In his supposed final fight of his 21-year career, Pacquiao defeated Bradley in a unanimous decision in their welterweight battle at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. All three judges scored Pacquiao winner by 116-110 in the match between the boxers.

Asked if Pacquiao?s victory was a good way to retire from boxing, Coloma said: ?Every champion wants to finish with a flourish. A victory provides an exclamation mark to a glorious career.?

Pacquiao?s latest victory was 66th bout in his long boxing career. The accomplished boxer is running for senator in the May 9 elections.

Coloma said he has no information if President Aquino watched the Pacquiao-Bradley fight or if had called the boxer to personally congratulate him.

When asked if Pacquiao?s victory would boost his senatorial bid in the May elections, Coloma said it was best to wait for the results of the elections.
