HOLLYWOOD – Despite expectations by observers to the contrary, ticket sales for the third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley are actually doing well.
Top Rank Inc. chief Bob Arum said he expects a packed MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
“Ticket situation is good. It is about what it was last time that Manny fought Bradley. There are approximately 2,000 tickets left and a lot of those will go in the last week,” the veteran promoter said.
Some boxing observers have expressed doubts about the marketability of a third fight between Pacquiao and Bradley, claiming the Filipino should instead have picked a younger and more dangerous opponent such as Terence Crawford.
Then there’s Pacquiao’s recently controversial comments on gay people, which could also affect ticket sales.
But Arum is on his way to proving those wrong, as Pacquiao-Bradley 3 is poised to draw a sold-out crowd.
