Pacquiao goes full blast in training

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao went full blast in training yesterday, sparring nine rounds against two different boxers and doing an additional eight rounds with the mitts with head trainer Freddie Roach.

It was the toughest day at the Wild Card Gym in General Santos City for Pacquiao since training camp started over three weeks ago.

With less than a month to his April 9 showdown with American Timothy Bradley, the comebacking Pacquiao seems to be picking up his timing and speed.

His power, according to Roach, remains.

Pacquiao is gearing up for his first fight since his record-breaking clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. last May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

He has never fought since because it took him months to recover from the torn rotator cuff on his right shoulder, an old, recurring injury that needed surgery to heal. Sportshub ( Article MRec ), pagematch: 1, sectionmatch: 1

The Bradley fight is being advertised as Pacquiao?s farewell fight.

Pacquiao will fly to Los Angeles tomorrow to resume training in Roach?s own Wild Card Gym. The number of sparring rounds should hit the maximum number of 12 this week or next.

He normally spars on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and if he is to fly to Los Angeles this coming Saturday then he should spar against Canadian Ghislain Maduma and American Lydell Rhodes in his preferred gym in Manila.
