In a fight that makes sense, if not dollar and cents, WBO super featherweight champion Joan Guzman might be headed towards a September clash with Mexican Humberto Soto. Both Soto and Guzman have been looking for a marquee matchup only to be ducked and paused by the best in the division.
Saturday night Soto’s promotoer, Bob Arum, told Boxing Confidential that a bout between his man and Guzman could be taking place sometime in Septermber.
While a fight between the two is not what either man has been looking forward to, the winner of a bout between Soto and Guzman has one more victory one their resume and brings them that much close to the super fight which fighters the calibuer of Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiaon, and Juan Manuel Marquez.
