Socialite and philanthropist Baby Arenas, whose penchant for staging high-profile events and earning plaudits for her efforts, is interested in staging the possible rematch between People?s Champion Manny Pacquiao and legendary Mexican featherweight Marco Antonio Barrera.
This was confirmed by Pacquiao?s business manager Rod Nazario who told Manila Standard ?Ms. Arenas talked to me. It?s on the table.? Nazario indicated he had informed Arenas what it would cost to stage a fight of such a magnitude in Manila.
Interest in a rematch surfaced after Barrera?s spectacular 10th-round TKO over former world champion and Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year Paulie Ayala in Carlson City, California last Sunday, in his first comeback bout after the devastating 11th-round TKO he suffered at the hands of Pacquiao last Nov. 15 in San Antonio, Texas.
