MARUMOTO, SANTILLAN MAKE WEIGHT IN JAPAN FOR TOMORROW'S TITLE FIGHT

OSAKA, Japan -- OPBF welterweight champion Taesei Marumoto and Filipino challenger Rev Santillan tipped the scales easily at 66.6 and 66.65, respectively for their 12-round championship fight tomorrow (July 14)at the Amagasaki in Hyogo.

Referee Brad Vocale said he expectcs both fighters to destroy each other in the early rounds as they are both in good physical shape.

"Frank (Quill, the OPBF president) told me that this fight is going to be tough as both Santillan and Marumoto are strong fighters and are capable of scoring knockout wins," Vocale told philboxing.com after the weigh in an hour ago.

Marumoto is eyeing a revenge over the lefty from Jaro, Iloilo City after the 5 feet and 11 inches Santillan outpointed him in a 10-round non-title setto here in 2004.
