WHILE everyone is busy with the Sinulog Festival, the future stars of the ALA Gym will get no rest as they showcase their wares in a public workout on Sunday.
Unbeaten up-and-comers Albert Pagara, Mark Magsayo and Kevin Jake Cataraja are some of the fighters featured this Sunday in two-round sparring sessions each at the Gaisano Country Mall car park.
Pagara, Magsayo and Cataraja headline the upcoming Pinoy Pride 35 – ?Stars of the Future? show at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino on Feb. 27.
The 21-year-old Pagara was supposed to face former world champion Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. in the main event but the latter had contractual problems with his handlers, forcing ALA Promotions to look for a replacement.
Magsayo, on the other hand, is taking on Mexican Eduardo Montoya in the main supporting bout, while Kevin Jaka Cataraja?s opponent is still to be determined.
Pagara trades leathers with bigger Arjan Canillas, Magsayo faces Elmo Traya and Cataraja takes on Christian Bacolod in the public sparring this Sunday.
There are two other two-round sparring bouts. Melvin Jerusalem faces Michael Domingo?s nephew Esneth Domingo and Jeo Santisima squares off with Vicente Casido.
