Jaro is coming off an impressive 8 straight victories, 6 by knockouts and might get his ninth after this 8-round clash in Japan.
The Negrense last registered a technical knockout win over Japanese Shota Kawaguchi in 2:40 of the 7th round of a scheduled 10-round match last October 2015 at the Sangyo Shinko Center, Sakai in Osaka. Jaro also triumphed against Japanese Shota Kawaguchi by majority decision in an 8-round clash at thesame Sangyo Shinko Center. Sonny Boy got scores of 78-76, 77-76 and 77-77.
In 2015, Jaro reigned supreme over Donriel Marcos on June 12 with a 2nd round TKO, and another 2nd round TKO over Albert Alcoy in February in Angono, Rizal.
Jaro?s conquering streak included victims Danilo Pena (via unanimous decision), Ichal Tobida (via TKO), Jovel Romasasa (TKO), and Marzon Cabilla (knockout).
Jaro last won the world title in 2013 with a stunning 6-round knockout victory over Thailand?s Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. He lost the crown months later.
