LOS ANGELES — Marco Antonio Barrera may have called Paulie Ayala his “primo” but tonight, the so-called “cousins” will be playing Family Feud with a twist of Russian roulette to boost their careers in a must-win duel at the Home Depot Center in the city of Carson here.
For Barrera, a convincing win most preferably by knockout, is needed to put him back on the radar screen of big-money fights including the right to issue a challenge to Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao, among others.
Ayala, 34, may be fighting the most important match of his last 37 battles (35-2, 12 KOs) as a loss could most likely be his swan song.
