” ‘AR-TUR, AR-TUR’. Crowd love Arthur Abraham but Murray lands snappy shots in early rounds.” -BBC Sports
With the help of a point deduction for holding, ?King ?Arthur Abraham won a split decision over Martin Murray to retain his WBO belt
The 36-yar-old Abraham (44-4) started slowly which is usually the way he starts, but soon picked up matters in the fourth round. The seemingly jinxed Murray (32-3-1) stayed close but never was able to overcome the immovable and strong Armenian/German.
Abraham still has plenty left, and with nemesis Carl Froch now out of the picture and Andre Dirrell needing a ?Resurrection? after having lost to James ?Chunky? DeGale, King Arthur is now positioned to make serious noise and attendant paydays if he can be matched accordingly.
The physically strong Abraham has given fans great fights in the past. Who can ever forget his blood and guts outings with Elvin Ayala in 2008 and Edison Miranda-in 2006?not to mention his mind-numbing KO of Jermain Taylor in 2009 in Berlin?
The King, who has now won 7 in a row against formidable opposition, remains alive and well.
Long live the king!
