A report on the eagerly anticipated pro debut of KO Boxing Promotions? Stan Surmacz-Ahumada
There?s a new heavyweight on the scene in Canada. Last night in Edmonton, Alberta, 6?4 250 pound Stan Surmacz-Ahumada made his eagerly anticipated professional debut on KO Boxing Promotions? ?Take Over? card before a packed crowd at the Shaw Conference Centre. 25 years old, Surmacz-Ahumada was born and raised in Edmonton to a Filipino mother and Polish father. After taking up boxing eight years ago, the hulking heavyweight amassed twenty amateur bouts including appearances at the Canadian Nationals before deciding to turn professional.
That pro debut went off with a bang last night as Surmacz-Ahumada made quick work of Winnipeg?s Dale Daniels. Showing blazing hand-speed for a heavyweight, the local favourite blitzed Daniels and pounded him with several thudding lefts and rights before a final left hook sent the visitor to the mat in a heap where he received the full ten count.
