ASIAN Boxing FEDERATION bantamweight champion Ben Mananquil retained his title by making short work of Mateo Handig during the main event of Fight for Glory in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Mananquil knocked out Handig in the third round of their scheduled 10-round fight.
Handig suffered his 10th loss that goes with his 13 victories, including a controversial victory against Katsunari Takayama in their 12 round bout up that served as an IBF World title eliminator in 2012.
Handig of the Highland Boxing Gym went on to lose four more defeats before challenging Mananquil of the MP Boxing Stable.
Manaquil improved his record to 11-1-2 with three knockouts. He took the ABF crown in 2014 from Michael Rodriguez.
In the co-main event, Geboi Mansalayo of Highland Boxing gym wrested the Luzon Professional Boxing Association flyweight championship after stopping Powell Balaba of ALA Boxing in 1:31 of the fourth round.
Indian national Phrabjot Singh of MP Boxing also knocked out Mike Espanosa in the third round of their scheduled 10 round encounter.
Ali Laurel of MP Boxing scored a unanimous win over Gerry Pateno of the Highland Boxing Gym, while Bener Santig of Highland dominated Romel Toquero from MP Boxing with a unanimous decision victory.
Argie Toquero, the reigning WBC Youth World super featherweight title holder, scored a first round knockout against Joeffrey Garcia in the curtain raiser.
