The possibility of Miguel Cotto fighting Canelo Alvarez has fight fans squirming in their seats. But they?re not the only ones squirming. Boxing writers, who should know better, are doing their fair share of squirming as well, and it?s no more becoming than the gyrations of their readers.
In an attempt to set the record straight, a record which presently resembles nothing so much as a corkscrew, Michael Yormark, President & Chief of Branding and Strategy Roc Nation, having heard all the claims and counterclaims, having read all the breathless prose he could stomach, just released the following statement:
?Contrary to other reports, Roc Nation Sports, Miguel Cotto Promotions along with Gaby Penagaricano are all on the same page regarding negotiations for Miguel?s next match up and have been working together to get the right deal. We are being diligent and ensuring that the contract being drawn up reflects the best possible position for Miguel and our team. And for that reason, we are not in a rush to make a premature announcement before that is achieved.?
