World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific super-featherweight champion Jimrex Jaca will defend his title against undefeated Alisher Rahimov on June 30 at the Olympisky Sport Hall in Moscow, Russia. The bout will be Jaca’s first appearance since winning the title on a seventh-round knockout over Indonesia’s Simson Butar-Butar last February 24 in Cebu. Also at stake for the fight will be the IBF Inter-continental super-featherweight crown, making the fight a double-title event. The 29-year-old Rahimov, nicknamed ‘Ali,’ holds a perfect record of 14 wins with 7 KO’s, and holds the interim Russian super-featherweight crown. He will be facing his first foreign opponent in Jaca, and will get his toughest test against the former Juan Manuel Marquez challenger. Among those who had been defeated by Rahimov was former Manny Pacquiao opponent Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov, whom he stopped in the fourth round last year. Yeshmagambetov created a name for himself in the country when he knocked down Pacquiao in their 2003 fight at the Luneta, only to be stopped in the fifth round. The 23-year-old southpaw Jaca, nicknamed ‘The Executioner,’ boasts of a 28-3-1, 13 KO’s record, and will be seeing action in his seventh overseas assignment
