IN A major turnaround, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez now appears ready to face Manny Pacquiao in a much-anticipated rematch.
“Marquez is ready, we’re ready-we’re waiting for the first available date HBO can give us,” said Bob Arum, head of Top Rank which promotes Marquez, in an interview with popular Mexican boxing website Box-latino Thursday.
There has been a snowballing demand for a Pacquiao-Marquez rematch following their May 8 showdown in Las Vegas where Pacquiao decked Marquez three times in the first round before the Mexican rallied to keep his twin titles by salvaging a split-draw verdict.
