Pacquiao losing his congressional bout

If it was a boxing match, Filipino ring icon Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is headed for a knockdown loss against incumbent South Cotabato Rep. Darlene Antonino-Custodio in their congressional bout.

Based on Pacland’s website blog, Pacquiao is trailing by a wide margin in the initial counting of ballots in almost all precincts of Bawing Elementary School, south of General Santos City.

“I just watched the initial counting of votes and I noticed in my visits to the precincts that Pacman usually gets only 2-3 votes while Darlene gets 7-8 out of 10 ballots. It’s the trend in almost all precincts,” a boxing fan reported.

In a television report over GMA-7’s ’24 Oras’, partial and unofficial results saw Custodio leading the poll, 208-123, against the world famous boxer.

At this early, boxing fans have already expressed satisfaction in the initial results which they described as ‘good news.’

“God have mercy on this country,” a fan from Cebu said.

“For those who have not voted for MP, win or loss… you have done good service to the country already,” another fan said.

Most of boxing fans have opposed the decision of Pacquiao to enter the political arena as it will ruin his successful boxing career highlighted with sensational victories against world famous fighter Erik Morales and Antonio Marco Barrera. (PNA)
