When you’re fighting in the biggest boxing match of the century, I guess it makes sense to have your family and friends nearby. Maybe that’s why Manny Pacquiao is willing to spend up to $4 million for his entourage on Saturday night.
According to the Associated Press, which spoke with Bob Arum, Pacquiao will purchase 900 tickets to the Fight of the Century for his family and friends. The total cost of those tickets will be somewhere between $3 million and $4 million.
When you’re scheduled to make somewhere north of $100 million to fight against Floyd Mayweather, you can afford to hook up your friends with some tickets.
Of course, the Fight of the Century isn’t going to be cheap for anybody. Tickets that were made available to the general public sold out in a heartbeat and the secondary market is going off the rails. As of Wednesday night, tickets on StubHub ranged from $3,584.28 to $351,005.25.
The bottom line is that it sure pays to be part of team Pacquiao.
