FLOYD Mayweather Jr. believes he is the best boxer in the world and he wants it to stay that way.
?I?m going to give you the honest truth. Floyd may be working a little bit harder than he normally would,? Floyd Mayweather Jr.?s father Floyd Sr. said in a report posted at Sky Sports.?It?s not a strategy, it?s not a plan, it?s nothing. He?s just a normal opponent who is going to get his ass whupped.?
Floyd Jr. takes on Manny Pacquiao this Sunday (RP time) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in what should be the most lucrative boxing match in history.
Pacquiao arrived yesterday ahead of his dream match with Floyd Jr.
?In a situation like this we take it serious. If I see somebody say he?s going to whup me, I?m going to take it serious. He is totally prepared and we?re going to make sure we run Pacquiao out of this town,? said Floyd Sr.
The 38-year-old Floyd Jr. has been unbeaten in 47 fights since turning pro in 1996. Pacquiao may be the one that could end that streak and hand Floyd Jr. his first career loss.
On the other hand, the undercard of the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao boxing event has already been announced and there will be no Filipinos fighting in the show.
The undercard will be highlighted by world champions Vasyl Lomachenko and Leo Santa Cruz.
Lomachenko, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight champion, faces Gamalier Rodriguez, while Santa Cruz, the World Boxing Council super bantamweight titleholder, slugs it out with Jose Cayetano.
