While international promoter Murad Muhammad declined to say it directly, he implied that the heavy betting on the Manny Pacquiao ? Juan Manuel Marquez title fight at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, last May 8 may be the stumbling block to a reversal of the decision based on the protest filed by Murad?s lawyers on behalf of Pacquiao who is recognized as ?The People?s Champion? after his devastating eleventh round TKO victory over legendary featherweight king Marco Antonio Barrera.
Appearing on a Viva Sports TV special ?Pacman vs Dinamita: The Real Score? along with Pacquiao and business manager Rod Nazario over RPN Channel 9 in Manila, Murad pointed out that if the decision is overturned the bookmakers would have ?to give back millions of dollars? to those who bet mostly on Pacquiao or Marquez to win.
