MANILA, Philippines – Despite being afflicted with cancer, a Manny Pacquiao fan endured more than 30 hours of travel from Tennessee to Los Angeles with his wife just to meet the world-boxing champion.
According to a GMA News report, Jody Albright, who was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2007, had his wish granted when Pacquiao took time off his training to personally speak to him.
?Only God can heal our sickness,? Pacquiao told Albright. ?He is the creator of everything, the giver of life. He can restore our life.?
Albright said Pacquiao has been his inspiration to keep fighting against cancer. His car was even hand-painted in Pacquiao designs, said the report.
?He was everything I thought he would be and more. I expected just what I got ? a humble man. You can see from his eyes to his soul that he cares about people,? Albright said.
?He doesn?t know me but he cared about me. I can tell that,? he added.
