Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather Halfway There!

We are halfway to the BIG fight! Two freight trains on a collision course and ground zero is on May 2nd, in Las Vegas! Four weeks into the training camps and so far all systems are a go. Who’s going to win this fight? This is a question that I have been asked over a 100 times in just the past month or so. Truth be told? I don’t know. Every time I think about this fight and what the outcome may be, I change my mind.

Pacquiao has the speed and the punch output that will certainly give Floyd problems. On the flip, Mayweather’s timing, defense, and his own speed will give Pacquiao problems. I don’t think either fighter will gas out. That’s just not going to happen. They are far too dedicated to their craft, and they are the top two hardest working fighters in the world. Nobody trains like these guys do.

Recenty, 8CountNews.com boxing writer Anthony Rozic caught up with Pacquiao and asked him how camp is going. Pacman gave him a good report saying, “Camp is going well.” Manny did mention that he had some leg cramps the other day, but that it as not a big deal.

There’s been some rumors that Floyd Mayweather was knocked down in sparring but nobody that I know has confirmed this, so to me it’s nothing but grapevine gossip until proven otherwise. You can bank it, Floyd’s working hard and he’ll be ready come May 2nd. Both of these guys will be in top condition and ready to go by fight day.

Freddie Roach is one of the best game planners in the business. He’ll have the game plan, but it’s up to Manny to execute it. This is easier said than done when your opponent if Floyd Mayweather. On the flip, Mayweather better be ready for a lighting fast punch machine. This is what makes this fight so intriguing. Both fighters have the tools needed to beat the other. The question is, which guy will execute better?

Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach, Justin Fortune will have him primed and ready. Floyd conditions like nobody else, so you know he’ll be ready. When these two trains collide on May 2nd, it should be an epic match up. Perhaps not as exciting as people want though. I think that both men respect each other. If either fighter starts getting reckless it could cost them. Pacman got knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez by a punch that he never saw. He needs to be careful not to run into something by Floyd that way. Floyd will look for that opportunity. He times like nobody else. Manny needs to remember that going into this fight.

May 2nd is approaching rapidly. Let the best man win!
