In last week’s episode of “De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7” viewers, fans, and HBO subscribers got a feel for who Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr., are as individuals … well, so it seems. What the eyes see, the mind believes, right? However, I can honestly say that people aren’t always who they appear to be. And no where else is this more prevalent than in rap music. I can’t count the number of times that I have come across an artist at a boxing show and surprised at how well mannered and eloquent rappers can really be. But because I bought into the hype of the violence, the women, and diamonds you can now see why I was expecting a different person than a gentleman. So, just as rappers are entertainers, so are athletes.
