Manny Pacquiao opts to drop rematch clause in Mayweather fight.

A MEGAFIGHT without a rematch clause? The Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout doesn?t have one as both fighters opted to await the outcome of their May 2 bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas before deciding if another round of talks for a new fight should be made. Blackwater team owner Dioceldo Sy disclosed the 36-year-old Pacquiao himself thumbed down suggestions his fight with the unbeaten Mayweather offers a potential trilogy given the personalities and financial earnings involved in it. ?Isa-isa lang daw muna,? said Sy, a known close friend and backer of Pacquiao during his early days as a fighter. Under the terms of the contract for their welterweight unification fight, Mayweather has the advantage on everything including a 60-40 split in the fight purse. [See Forbes expects Pacquiao-Mayweather fight tickets to average P132,000 in secondary market] Pacquiao, according to Sy, doesn?t want to get tied up to the same terms which are obviously advantageous to Mayweather in the event of a rematch. ?Yun ang ayaw nila Manny. Baka mamaya matali sila sa 60-40 na hatian kung ilagay sa kontrata na mag-trilogy or rematch,? said the PBA team owner and longtime basketball patron. ?At least after one fight, kung mag-rematch puwedeng iba na ang purse split,? said Sy. ?Kaya nga sabi ni Manny, dahan-dahan lang.?
