MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao is not among those losing hope that his highly-awaited showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. will push through in May.
?Tuloy yan (It will happen),? said Pacquiao yesterday from his Forbes Park residence.
Pacquiao flew to Manila from General Santos City the other day and made a quick stop at the House of Representatives.
Pacquiao spoke to House reporters, saying they?re just waiting for Mayweather to announce the staging of the fight on May 2 at the MGM Grand.
Pacquiao had planned to drop by the Philippine Sportswriters Association Awards Night at 1Esplanade last Monday but didn?t make it.
The 36-year-old Filipino also said he has suggested a $5 million fine if anyone between him and Mayweather would fail the drug test.

During the NBA All-Star Game in New York last Monday, Mayweather told the world that the fight is still up in the air.
?I haven?t signed yet. He hasn?t signed yet,? said Mayweather, dismissing reports that the fight is on.
Mayweather?s latest statement killed all the excitement generated by a report that said the two camps have sealed the deal regarding the $250 million bout.
Some experts are even suggesting that Mayweather is just making it appear that he wants the fight to happen.
Everybody?s waiting for Mayweather to make his decision because if he chooses to fight Pacquiao in May 2 there may not be enough time.
But Pacquiao is making sure that when he gets the call, he?ll be ready to plunge into serious training.
Normally he needs eight weeks to train for a fight but one of this magnitude may call for a longer period of time.
Freddie Roach said if it?s against Mayweather, they need to be ?100 percent? ready.
Pacquiao has gone out of the road jogging the past week or two and makes sure that free time is spent on the basketball court.
