You can look at this from the perspective of say an adjective, a noun, or a verb. For a savage in the most general sense, it is something fierce, violent and uncontrolled. It can be a member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized. It can attack ferociously and maul.
In all of my analysis of Floyd Mayweather as it relates to a certain Filipino… I think he regards Manny Pacquiao as a savage. His Uncle once said Pacquiao used some sh*t called “A-side Meth” (remember folks, Roger does live near “Area 51”) and its documented that Floyd has had a few glasses of this Kool-Aid.
But I believe all he’ll use is Freddie Roach and nearly six years of unbottled animosity.
Its now been a week since the New England Patriots and Tom Brady drowned the Seattle Seahawks in an eternal pool of Superbowl XLIX misery. In the subsequent week since, the fight world has expected an announcement of its very own Superbowl.
This, on the heels of what seemed as if an almost surreal first ever, face-to-face meeting between [arguably] the two best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. This meeting (already now legendary), has taken a turn for now being infamous, in the wake of moves initiated by what I’ve always maintained is an apprehensive Mayweather.

Bob Arum (who runs Top Rank and things about as much as Bobby Bowden did in his waning years at Florida State), was so pleased with the way things were proceeding, that he decided to issue a few statements to Tim Dahlberg of the Associated Press. Now Dahlberg, is not only one of the most credible journalists in the world, but he’s renowned for authenticating sources. There was nothing about his feature that was “pro” Arum or anti-Mayweather.
Yet, Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports!, felt the need to offer a retort on this article the very next day. Or was he requested to offer a retort? I’m sorry but, I couldn’t read that article without noticing what appeared to be Floyd Mayweather’s NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) laden fingerprints all over it. I’m not saying Iole took a bribe, but in the words/tone of Chris Rock: “I understand”.
Not long after that story was released, Floyd decided to play games at the public’s expense even more. As if the suspense concerning this fight wasn’t already killing them, he decides (or most likely his advisor, Al Haymon did) to use the wait for a fight announcement into an opportunity to promote his app.
The question now becomes, just how much more are “you” willing to put up with?
If that wasn’t enough, yesterday, he decides (and this is ALL HIM all day) broadcast video excerpts of a meeting between he and Pacquiao at the Filipino icon’s hotel. Courtesy of my boys over at Real Combat Media, the first thing I saw when I logged into social media was this epic piece of video subterfuge sprayed with bullsh*t from Floyd.
A child does something like this.
Almost like when you’re lying and you want to set-up an alibi in advance so you can go: “Seeeeee… I told you I wanted the fight!” What’s crazy is that I was actually bumpin the Rich Homie Quan remix feat: Faboulous, Ty Dolla $ign, Dej Loaf and Rick Ross when I saw it. You know… “Blah, Blah, Blah-Blah, Blah”.
You should listen to it too, and think about Floyd while you’re doing it like I was. I mean, I was laughing my ass off when I saw how Manny was looking at Floyd in that video. He looked at him like he was a bull about to run into Floyd’s China Shop. And really to be honest, he’s been acting like a bull trying to get into Floyd’s shop through a bunch of chains (lies), security codes (excuses), and fake gun fire (bluffing/hot air.. take your pick).
I’m not the only one that thinks this way the world over, and got huge kick out of watching fan fight/homie Nina Cranston’s candid and funny ass video on the May vs. Pac situation. I think a lot of you out there feel as she does, and enough is clearly enough at this point.

Since Nina kinda ended it with a clip of Floyd’s classic exchange with Larry Merchant a few years ago, I’m going to go a little “Merchantesque” as I close this.
A few years ago, one of my best friends gave me a book for my birthday called “The Prince”. I’ve come to understand that it is a book that many world leaders felt was an essential read, so its literally become an essential part of my being as I keep trying to understand this world.
There are many powerful things that Nicollo Machiavelli said in that book, but one thing he said stays with me. He said: “It is not titles that honor men, but men that honor titles”.
I think what he was trying to say is that what we do, is not nearly as important as what we are. We can all talk on principle, but we really act on interest. That is, to me, the fundamental difference between all the love the world has for Manny Pacquiao, and all the hatred it has for Floyd Mayweather. How we’re regarded in history is never so much about what we think of ourselves, rather, it is what others know about us in a way that they can chronicle- not us.
Whether Floyd likes it or not, that “TBE” hat he wears will embarrassingly be mistaken for “M.I.A” if terms are not met to produce this fight on May 2. I believe they will be, and that he’ll have to stop wearing that hat anyway- but that’s another story.
Which brings me to you “The Fan”. You’ve been treated like another story. We keep hearing about how many records this fight will break- at your expense, even as so many promises have already been broken.
Make sure this fight breaks a record for stupidity.
