Floyd Mayweather is taking his precious time, enjoying the sight and sounds of Jamaica, unmindful of the fact that the world awaits whether he is going to end up facing Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas.
Mayweather posted a photo of himself in his social media account resting in a hammock in Jamaica apparently without any care in the world.
?Laying back, relaxing, enjoying good weather, palm trees and pina coladas. While they continue to lie about making the fight? I?m just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet,? said Mayweather, stressing that the fight everyone is drooling over has yet to be made.
Efforts to get a deal in place have been pretty difficult despite the willingness of the two face each other.
Just before Mayweather boarded his private jet for the Caribbean, the unbeaten US fighter even engaged Pacquiao in a conversation during an NBA game in Miami and dropped by the Filipino fighter?s suite immediately after the game.
Still, there are still countless issues to be ironed out before everything gets settled and a failure in negotiations should result in the two parties looking elsewhere for their respective dancing partners.
Mayweather can choose between Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto and British Amir Khan, while Pacquiao only has Khan in mind.
Pacquiao had actually discussed the possibility of a fight with Khan, his many-time sparring partner, for May 30 in London.
Khan even posed for pictures with Pacquiao during Pacquiao?s recent whirlwind visit in London.
Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz said Khan is their solid Plan B in case the Mayweather fight goes down the drain, noting that London has the financial muscle to bring Pacquiao there.
The Barclays Center in Brooklyn had also been mentioned as a potential site but Koncz doesn?t think New York can come up with the money that London could.
In the meantime, fight fans better sit back and relax and wait until Mayweather wakes up from his siesta and finally says the Pacquiao fight is indeed on.
