Nueva Ecija, Philippines – Former senator Tito Sotto said that the victory of People’s Champion boxer Manny Pacquiao on Sunday over the erstwhile undefeated Mexican boxer Jorge Solis, could improve the chances of winning of the entire TU political ticket. Sotto is one of only four pro administration senatorial bets of Team Unity who have so far entered the magic 12 in recent poll surveys
“We have nothing to do with Manny Pacquiao’s victory. It was his own doing!” said Sotto. But, I am very optimistic that with his win, the chances of our entire senatorial ticket has been boosted since we all know Manny is closely identified with the president.”
The Team Unity declared a three-hour campaign ceasefire on Sunday, putting to a halt to all campaigning to watch the destructive fists of Pacquiao demolish Solis mercilessly in all of the eight rounds they spent on top the ring.
Sotto added that the youth could take a lesson from the Pacquiao who staked his World Boxing Council International Super Featherweight title against Solis. That is to follow strict discipline physically and mentally should they want to succeed like the former construction worker from General Santos City.
