Photo courtesy of Showtime Amir Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) scored a commanding twelve round decision win over Devon Alexander (26-3, 14 KOs) moments ago in Las Vegas as seen live on Showtime in a bout devoid of any drama. Both men looked to open the bout boxing but the edge in hand speed for Khan proved to be an advantage right out of the gate. Khan helped his cause setting things up with the jab and as the fight progressed it was clear the similar styles involved saw Khan with a decided edge as his hand-speed and power were superior to Alexander who was largely trying to do the same things Khan was, with limited success. The longer the fight went on the more pronounced the clever style match-up became for Khan and he just cruised through the late rounds with little worry for Alexander, who?d had just one knockout in the last four years. It was very clever match-making from Khan?s handlers. After twelve rounds were in the books scores were read as 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108, all for Khan.
