I’ve never had a more overwhelmingly positive response to an article before, and I’m glad that fans are now understanding who’s responsible for the most demanded event in sports history not taking place up to this point. Manny Pacquiao probably erupts in laughter nowadays whenever Floyd Mayweather’s name comes up.
It is without question that Floyd Mayweather has done everything humanly possible to beat Manny Pacquiao outside of the ring, while working even harder to prevent a ring confrontation he knows he’ll lose. I tell his fans all the time, one’s who insist that he’d beat Pacquiao easily, that if he actually had the conviction and the belief that they do – his nickname would make a lot of sense.
Floyd went into a studio a few years ago and made this video. The next week, enraged over how he was “portrayed”, he wanted you to uh, watch this video to clear things up.
“Money” just told you people on video that his health would be at stake facing Pacquiao. He says this despite common opponents Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manual Marquez, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton and Shane Mosley deciding to tempt fate and challenge Pacquiao.
But the world’s best fighter and self proclaimed “TBE” gets on camera and basically tells us he’s afraid of the man.

How sure has Pacquiao always been that he’d defeat Mayweather? In between fights with all of the above named fighters, he challenged Antonio Margarito while giving away almost 20lbs in the process. One of the major reasons why he did this, was because he knew that Floyd was scared of Margarito as well and wanted to drive home a message.
This is the most blatant example of ducking that the sport has ever known, and I’m glad that people all around the world are now pulling his f*ckin card for it.
I generally won’t respond to comments on articles at all, though I do read them- both the good and bad. E-mails are difficult because there’s so many of them to respond to, and I have to be selective. There was one from a 12 year-old boy that I just couldn’t resist.
He goes: “T@z, why you always picking on Floyd for not fighting Manny Pacquiao? He gettin that money my nigga – he aint ducking that!” THAT saddened me, and my e-mail response to that lead to a positive phone conversation with his father.

The man was the same age as Bernard Hopkins, who admitted he felt “picked on” when he picked up the cable bill loaded with a fat PPV fee for Floyd’s rematch with Marcos Ren? Maidana.
He’ll feel the same way when he sees his next bill and reaches for a chair and a glass of water to deal with buyer’s remorse for Pacquiao’s sparring session with ESPN2 fighter Chris Algieri.
Its an example of how the business of boxing, pioneered by modern greed, has hurt and changed boxing. But it hasn’t destroyed it.
The “Cold War” between networks and cable giants has been lifted, and the manipulative tactics of Al Haymon have been exposed. We can thank Showtime’s Bernard Hopkins in part for that, given his brave decision to face the best light heavyweight in the world in HBO’s Sergey Kovalev.
Floyd if you’re reading this (we that’s a challenge for you buddy, but I’m just saying), you do know that Bernard didn’t really lose that night right? We honor him for what he did and for what he’s done.
We don’t care about how many loses he has. We just know how much he’s won in defeat.
The world would’ve never understood if Muhammad Ali came up with more excuses than a lying ass defense attorney for not facing Joe Frazier. Knowing what we know about “The Greatest” we can’t even imagine it. Just the thought of him ducking Frazier makes you make that face when somebody lets off a silent and really deadly fart.
That’s how we looking at YO ASS RIGHT NOW FLOYD. So… If you want to keep your precious May 2nd date away from a Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Canelo Alvarez fight, then interrupt the negotiations with the only fight that can.
