The popularity of reality shows hasn’t been lost on HBO.
The pay television network will begin airing a four-episode reality series Sunday at 10:30 p.m. to help promote the May 5 Oscar De La Hoya-Floyd Mayweather fight, which, not so coincidentally, HBO will show on pay-per-view.
ADVERTISEMENTThe first three shows will follow “The Sopranos” and “Entourage” the next three weeks and the fourth episode will be shown two days before the fight.

Bill Simmons of ESPN.com was among those who were stunned that Bobby Bacala beat brother-in-law Tony Soprano in a fistfight on the season premiere of “The Sopranos” last Sunday.
“Has there been a bigger upset since Douglas-Tyson?” Simmons wrote. “We needed Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant to show up after the show to give us a historical perspective. Maybe even a little Harold Lederman. Oh-kay Jim, I scored that round 10-8 for Bobby Bacala ? he controlled the fight, worked the body well and gets the extra point for the knockdown.”
