SAN FRANCISCO -- Despite making only 33 of 93 field goals, a very low 35.5 percent clip, the Golden State Warriors still had enough to beat the OKC Thunder, 91-86, on Sunday night at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
Golden State's Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, combined for 35 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists but the sharpshooting duo missed a combined 24 of 35 shots.
But the Warriors got a huge lift from the bench courtesy of Marreese Speights, who drilled 25 points.
"It says a lot about him that he stayed ready being in and out of the rotation early," Curry told NBA.com after Golden State won five straight and improved its record to 10-2, second-best in the Western Conference and third overall in the league.
The Thunder shot just 35.6 percent from the field and 17.6 percent from 3-point range. They dropped their sixth in a row and fell to 3-12 in the standings, last place among 15 teams in the West,
Reggie Jackson paced the Thunder with a near triple-double --- 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 asissts. Serge Ibaka tallied 16 markers and eight boards while Anthony Morrow had 16 and 12 rebounds. (JSM)
